Hey, remember yesterday when Stantis joked that Joe Biden stole Winslow's campaign rascal? Yeah, forget that happened. Stantis needs to make a last second joke about the bail out, so Winslow needs his rascal back. In a way, Stantis got himself into a jam and rather than actually plan ahead and do his job, he instead takes the easy way out and wants his readers to forgive him for his past mistakes and simply pretend none of that other stuff happened and let's just start over. You know, kinda like the shadow banking industry getting bailed out by the government.
I can't believe I actually looked forward to this storyline. Instead of thrusting Carmen into the middle of his own version of the Biden/Palin debate, Stantis once again took the lazy way out and even though Carmen was invited said she couldn't be in the debate. Why? Because he knows nothing is expected of him. Today's strip is probably going to be considered a good one by most, just because Stantis takes an easy jab at the bail out. It's just like Palin on Thursday - since she didn't completely lose it on stage it was considered a great performance. Since when have conservatives lowered their expectations so much?
I guess after 8 years of George W. Bush will make you think anything is better than what we have now - even if it's Scott Stantis and Sarah Palin.
