A Read Hearing
I really don't have anything to add to the discussion about today's strip. These are the same jokes being told since 1898 about Jacky Boy, as he was then known, who had been imprisoned by the enemies in a POW camp in Manila, which is why he still refers to Filipinos as his "little brown brothers." I remember seeing the moving pictures from the vaudeville performance captured on the praxinoscope shortly thereafter. (A young Jimmy Durante played the part of "The Mick", with Al Jolson in heavy facepaint as his captor. There was much pie-throwing and frantic running, all set to the tune of the "Maple Leaf Rag.")
While amusing, entertaining, cathartic, &c., there's really no point in shouting into the echo chamber that is Shrubville about what a terrible horrible no good very bad president John Sidney McCain would make. Which is why I'm constantly picking on B'Iraq Mohammed Hussein Obomba. Until he gets assassinated at least. Then it'll be sadness and tears and unfulfilled scandals and wildly imaginative hypothetical scenarios in which he wouldn't have become a disappointment to his starry-eyed followers. Then, after an appropriate amount of time had passed, we'd be back here at Shrubville complaining about how Scotty Boy is picking on President Clinton and her first laddy.

Awww, Stantis is picking on McSame! Pooooor Sacki. Must be tough realizing he's not the same guy he was when he ran in 2000. But wait a few days - he'll probably flip back sooner or later, since that's all he does - which way are the political winds blowing today? That's the way John Sidney Keating Five Cheat On His Disfigured Wife And Calls His Second Wife A C*nt McCain is going to go...
I think I'd be okay with Sacki's slams on Obama if they had any substance to them. Instead it's just stuff I could hear Sean Hannity spew on any given night. What, no flag pin controversy to complain about? Oh - wait - he wore one the other day. Dang you Barack - why do you love America so much? Maybe TOO much...(cue scary music)...

Point out 50 'slams' on Mr. Michelle Hussein Obama from me that had no substance. I demand satisfaction!

So are the Shrubvillians hoping for a third-party in this race? Other than Nader, of course?

I do hope that you're being sarcastic Sacki, considering your insistence on always using Obama's middle name - as if baby Barack had a choice.
I'm leaning towards Obama, mainly because John McCain will give us 4 more years of Bush policies but even worse, and I don't care for how Hillary's run her campaign. No Bob Barr or Ralph Nader for me, but I secretly hold out hope that Al Gore will save us all.

Oh, okay, Obama didn't have a choice in his middle name. Just like he didn't have a choice not to change it? And yet his wife, Michelle Hussein Obama, had hers changed at marriage. Hmmmmmm? He's had how many years to get that done and yet hasn't, underscoring his laissez-faire attitude and streak of dilettantism.

Why do I get the feeling if he had changed it the argument would have been "what is he trying to hide by changing his middle name??? He must hate America!" This from people who support a man whose middle name is Sidney. You know, just like that show "Love, Sidney" starring Tony Randall as a gay man. But we all know that John McCain isn't gay, since he cheated on his disfigured first wife and married a millionaire who funded his political career. Oh, and probably cheated on his second wife with a lobbyist.
And to misquote "The Princess Bride," when referring to "laissez-faire" - I don't think that word means what you think it means. Unless you're talking about McCain, since that's his economic model.

Fine, Furnace, I'll stop using Obama's middle name, Mohammed, if that'll make you happy.
& McCain didn't cheat on his pill popping wife, he was just polling the electorate.
