Stupider Than Dumb

TODAY'S STRIP

Each time I read this strip (and I've read it at least six times already this morning trying to find the merest thread to begin discussion), I read "the feeling of Lindsay Lohan" instead of the "freeing" of as one of Winslow's planks. But that probably speaks more to your humble correspondent's frame of mind rather than Scott Stantis's.

As for Scott's mind? It's on auto-pilot, as it has been and as it shall be forevermore. Repeat, rehash, regurgitate, restupider than redumb.

I love how one day the media tells Winslow that Hillary hasn't commented on his campaign, then the next that the candidates are calling his platform dumb. So which is it Stantis, is he the frontrunner that everybody is trying to take down, or some guy that nobody knows about who won a primary nobody cares about?

And when was the last time anybody talked about Linsday Lohan? She's been out of the headlines since - well, the last time Stantis had Winston campaigning. Way to stay topical, Scooter.

My attitude towards today's strip is that it could be a lot worse. All things considered, not a bad entry. This is Scott Stantis we're dealing with here, you know.

And you're right, not only is Winslow's platform stupider than dumb, it is also very outdated (Lindsay Lohan?); as for the leash laws part of his platform, this is the first I've heard of it.

Winslow is not as ignorant as Mukasey the Attorney General nominee, who refuses to state that torture by waterboarding is illegal. Any fool could tell you that. It's not like he's being nominated for the Supreme Court, where he is afraid of being viewed as pre-judging court decisions. He's up for attorney general. The fact is, waterboarding is a kind of torture that has been illegal for years and years. And Mukasey for some reason is not acknowledging this fact. He says it is repugnant, but will not say that it's illegal. What?! And the sad thing is that a couple of Democratic Senators are now supporting him in spite of their views that it is illegal. Why?! Sen. Schumer said that even though Mukasey refuses to say that waterboarding is illegal, he is confident that he "would enforce a law that bans waterboarding." WHAT?!

Stantis won't touch this topic, but I wonder where Winslow stands on waterboarding. If it's anything like the rest of his platform...
