TODAY'S STRIP

As The Furnace mentioned the other day -- though I'm paraphrasing a little bit -- when the goddamn hell did those two little dipshits Carmen and Winslow start working for the dumbass newspaper in Prickly Fucking City?

This whole week has been Stantis working out his petty little personal issues. On the upside, since Scott's insight into print media and the newspaper business is nil, the fact he's said nothing of value or even made any sense this week has been a dead-on depiction of the current state of affairs between his ears. Bravo for that, dillweed.

Is free form writing really appropriate for political comics? Stantis never seems to take the time to think out what he wants to say - he's like an overly-excited 4 year old who just saw a movie and can't wait to tell you all about it but none of it makes any sense. "Newspapers are still relevant, yes they are, but they shouldn't compete with blogs!" leads to "our corporate masters are firing one of us but I can't tell you why - I guess to cut costs - but I won't mention that part in the actual comic cuz you should just know that!"

There really is no rhyme or reason in what Stantis says anymore. Just like most Republicans.

Well, there's a first for everything. I disagree with CJo and Furnace today. I think Stantits is taking a kinda-cool leap here, in that he has the two "comic strip characters" enter real life.

Kinda like when Doonesbury has the characters read from the mailbag and pretend to be employees of the strip writer. Here, the paper that publishes PC has called in its "employees" and Carmen and the dog are enlisted to help.

Further, I disagree that "most Republicans" have no rhyme or reason with respect to what they say--I think that Furnace either severely misunderestimates or has not spoken to the typical Republican-identified voter. Rather, the no rhyme or reason part applies to the Republican politicians who are in office.
