In Any Event, We Always Knew Winslow Was A Hag

Finally, after 3 long gravylovin' years (what a shindig that Shrubville 3rd Anniversary blowout was last month), the implicit becomes the explicit, and by explicit I don't mean to connote that I consider it in any way obscene or untoward, but nevertheless here we are witnessing the outing of Carmen.
Joining the long, proud line of lesbigay characters from The Yellow Kid to Marcie to Jon Arbuckle to Dumbledore, Carmen we salute you. We only hope that for your sake Mr. Huckabee is a Log Cabin Republican.

Pardon my idiocy, Sacki, but what about this particular strip gave you the idea that Carmen is a lesbian? I read the strip voer and over again and still I could not understand this Shrubville post.

Oh, and on the political side, yesterday, it seemed that Stantis, who of course speaks through Carmen always, suggested that he also supported Huckabee. However, today, he seems to be suggesting that it is ridiculous to think that Huckabee has a prayer in hell of becoming president. So what's the idea, here, Scott -- you support Huckabee because you agree with him fully, but you doubt that he could actually be elected?
I doubt it too...but then I'm certainly not one of his supporters. Who knows with Stantis.

One more thing: yesterday The Furnace wrote that at least it was timely to endorse Huckabee in the strip. Well, I just thought: what if he had supported Brownback?
Brownback, of course, just pulled out of the race, and if Stantis, with his two-week-old material, came out and supported Senator Brownback for president in a strip published a few days after he withdrew. That would be the ultimate embarassment for Stantis...I might actually feel sorry for him if that happened!
Okay, I really have no more to say this time. That's all.

Chris, I don't know what Sacki is talking about either.

Could it be a play on the "straight face" comment from Winslowston?

Exactamundo, Freddie my man. I'm assuming, as is my wont, that since Carmen doesn't have a straight face, she must therefore etc. etc. And say what you will about my assumptions; I'm an ass man anyhow.
