TODAY'S STRIP

Wowee. Someone got a gift subscription to "Popular Science" for his birthday. Neat. Tell us more of these "recent discoveries," Scott; please.

As for Carmen and her wish to book a seat on the next flight out of this universe... Try calling 1-800-HEAVEN'S-GATE.

This is my new favorite thing with PC: trying to predict what random storyline is Stantis going to pick up without any rhyme or reason. Out of the blue last week Winston was back on the campaign trail, and before you know it, Carmen is talking about the wonders of the universe. Nothing like incoherent storytelling to start the week off right.

This is ridiculous. First of all, the joke has been told a million times before by different cartoonists in different forms (in much funnier ways too). Second of all, it drives me crazy how Stantis rapidly shifts in and out of storylines, regardless of whether he's brought any resolution to them. First, he has Carmen outraged by wiretapping. But then he abruptly switches back to Winslow being on the campaign trail. But instead of continuing that he quickly flips over to an entirely different subject.
What a waste of ink this comic strip all too often is.

Carmen and Winslow joining the Heaven's Gate cult? Now THAT would make this a great week in Prickly City.
