No More Years! No More Years!

I...I...I...don't care.

So, in other news, today is the birthday of Tom Wilson, writer of Ziggy. While some might think Ziggy is the naz with god given ass, and others might find him too preachy (like Mindy does), it should be noted that Ziggy is "a small, bald, pantless, almost featureless character (save for his large nose) who seems to have no job, hobbies, or romantic partner, just a menagerie of pets: Fuzz, a small white dog; Sid, a cat afraid of mice; Josh, a discouraging parrot; Goldie, a fish; and Wack, a duck."

It is also, of course, a one-panel comic. So whatever its faults, it doesn't stammer on, presenting storylines that go nowhere or go on and on about nothing and nothing, signifying nothing. Here's to you Ziggy, and your freeballin' ways. Hang loose, my friend. Hang loose.

Apparently Stantis doesn't get paid by the panel. Two days, eight panels, two drawings. Did he hurt shoulder again? He's easily the laziest comic strip artist out there, especially since he whined and complained that other comic guys were being nominated for awards even though they did animated comics. "It's not fair - we only get four panels!" he bitched (or something to that effect) - and here he wastes 2 days on 2 drawings. Way to go, Stantis - you redefine lazy on a daily basis.

We know:
Yesterday was the "Prickly City Primary"
Winslow raised the most campaign money.
Winslow had been the front-runner for weeks.
Winslow is from Prickly City.
Prickly City is only 4 blocks long.
Winslow's campaign rally had a large turnout.
No other candidates were seen campaigning in P.C.

We don't know:
Why is Winslow surprised he won?

Yeah, really, why the hell would any of the other candidates CARE about winning in Prickly City anyway if it's only four blocks long?

Ah, Ziggy, even if you don't make me laugh that much, at least you don't take as long to read as Stantis's "strip." It's too bad that you're a loser, Ziggy, but at least you have all your pets...except for Wack the duck, who hasn't been seen in years. Did he die, or did he just drop of the face of the earth like Dio the cynical lizard of Prickly City, USA?

Just for kicks, I will now analyze today's Ziggy cartoon. In it, a balding man grins maliciously across the desk from Ziggy, who is completely bald (not to mention pants-less, as usual). The man, it seems, is working for the IRS, and he is responding to the taxes the Ziggy is paying him, by saying that Ziggy could give more than the $7000 that he is giving him.

This isn't especially funny, but I wonder how Ziggy can pay taxes if he has no income (no job = no income). Then again, one also might wonder how he can afford to feed his pets and himself, own a house, and care for a garden without an income, and that has never been answered after all these years, so I just say screw it, I'm going to stop trying to figure this out because it's pointless.
