Delish

TODAY'S STRIP

Even though Stantis repeats for the third time the "What do you stand for" set-up, he at least finishes with a somewhat-funny gag: Winslow serving himself a heaping helping of elephant rump.

Not bad. I'll get behind that gag, so to speak.

As mentioned in the comments yesterday, Stantis has himself a "blog." Kind of. It's mostly just posts of his political cartoons but he'll occasionally make comments on his own work. Nothing too enlightening. But it got me thinking about what other people are currently saying about Stantis. Which lead to a Google search. Which lead to Wikipedia. Which lead me to see that Stantis (and/or cohorts) have successfully lobbied to get the link to Shrubville removed from the Prickly City Wikipedia page. Losers. If anyone can or wants to help reinstate, please feel free.

Typical Republicans - can't take criticism, so they act like it doesn't exist.

This reminds me that I'd be interested in seeing analyses here of Stantis' editorial cartoons, which occasionally run in my paper.

Oh look, it's the culture of corruption!.

Hillary here is drawn so deformed that I thought she was supposed to be in bed with that ribbon on her blanket at first glance-- I guess when you've nothing intelligent to say, you can always make your enemy look fat and creepy.

Apparently the elephant became unable to stand because it wore itself out running from President Bush???

I made some Wikipedia changes. But I though that Scottie hated blogs, that they were just some foolish thing that Winslow did when he wasn't running for president with a starlet.

Speaking of which, shouldn't this be Lindsay Lohan week? Or is that next week?

...His one panel political strips are actually a lot better compared to his "Prickly City" comics...

Why the hell doesn't he just drop Prickly city altogether and stick to his one panel strips?

I wouldn't doubt that Stantis honestly thinks that Prickly City is a fantastic comic strip, so he's not going to let it go. Listening to his podcasts there doesn't seem to be any hint that he thinks it's poorly written or horribly drawn - and if anyone brings that up, he ignores or mocks them. Until a new conservative comic strip becomes available, PC is probably locked in until January 2009.

Maybe it's just me, but I actually laughed at today's "Prickly City." I thought that the punchline was hilarious.
I groan at this strip every day, but today I did laugh and I can't remember the last time that happened (at Prickly City, I mean, not in general).

Is it just me?

Thanks, Annie! We'll see how long it lasts.
