What a Fitting Tribute
What a dumbshit this guy is. Today, Memorial Day, is custom-made for someone like Stantis, who has defended the Iraq War inside-outside-upside-down and any which way but loose. Show us that you support the troops, Scott. Show us that you can pay tribute to those who have lost their lives in service to our country.
But instead, he makes *another* goddamned joke about Winslow and his call to Free Paris Hilton.
I'm appalled. But not surprised.

So I had a though on our calendar-challenged friend Scott. Here's what I think it is. He has a strip all ready to go celebrating the finding of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Every day, he sits and thinks, "This might be it! This might be the day that Dear Leader George Bush is finally proven right!" So every day Scott sits and waits, and waits, and waits, checking the news wires anxiously. And every day at about 4:00, he finally gives in, sees what in the entertainment news, scribbles something out, and congratulates himself on meeting his deadline.
And then he goes home, wishing and hoping that finally, tomorrow, his beloved George Bush finally gets the respect that he so richly deserves. Those weapons of mass destruction are somewhere; so what if this war has lasted longer than WWII? Scott knows that this struggle is far more important.

Do you think Stantis understands the irony of having someone say to Winslow basically that with all the things going on in the world THAT'S what he's going to waste your time on?
