Heart of Darkness

TODAY'S STRIP

Wrong. Wrong wrong wrong. This strip is wrong.

First of all, the Democrats invited Winslow to the debates because they needed a "Pro-War Democrat." Huh? What about Hillary Clinton. She doesn't count?

Second, Winslow is pro-war? Wrong. It's just another character flip-flop by Stantis, ripping a square message out of the round hole that is his ass.

Third, invading Canada? Boy, like, that wasn't even funny in Michael Moore's 'Canadian Bacon' circa 1995.

Fourth, using a slam on Kucinich as a punchline is just plain wrong. And 'savage.' If anything, it exposes Stantis' 'black heart' instead of taking a 'comic turn.'

If I were on the Pulitzer Prize committee and I voted for Stantis based on this strip, it would be like awarding it for best novella to "Heart of Darkness" starring Marlon Brando. And THAT would be a zany development. If not a completely nonsensical way to construct not only a sentence but also an argument.

Ha ha! Stantis is stealing jokes from Michael Moore, not to mention South Park's Oscar-nominated song, "Blame Canada."

Not only is Clinton pro-war, but Biden, Dodd, and Edwards also voted in favor of the Iraq War Resolution, granting the president the power to invade Iraq, provided that he pretend to try diplomatic means for a little while first. (Could any of them actually have thought that Bush would resolve the matter peacefully?)

Of all the current Democratic candidates who were members of Congress at the time, only one voted against the resolution - just that nutty Kucinich!

Note to Stantis: a real member of the Democratic party wouldn't call it a "Democrat debate." That's something you Republicans say because you know calling it the "Democrat party" is an insult. But since you all act like you're five years old you think it's cute and funny. Grow the f*ck up.

And yeah, how crazy and nutty is that Kucinich. Voting against the war without end. Geez, you'd think he realized we were being lied into it in the first place. What a whack job. Next thing you know he'll pull a Ron Paul and say that the terrorists don't hate us because of our "freedom" but because of our Middle East policies before 9/11. Man, that's INSANE.

I'm having another of those head-ache moments. Is supporting the war a wacky, crazy, even zany thing that only Winslow would do, or is supporting the wra the kind of good and proper think that only the Republic party would do?
