Petrified
I don't know what would be worse: today's strip as an inexplicable one-off or today's strip as the beginning of a series in which Winslow sits on dinosaur eggs.
Six of one, half a dozen of the other.
If it's a one-off strip, it would be one of the most idiotic in the Stantis oeuvre.
If it's the beginning of a storyline, it would be one of the most idiotic in the Stantis oeuvre.
Either way, all one can do is pray for sweet sweet Armageddon. Come Armageddon, come. Now. Please.
(And, of course, by "Armageddon" I mean, "a Democrat winning the White House in 2008.")
Comments
Well, this is embarrassing. I thought the joke was that Winslow ATE the eggs. I will just blame this on Stantis' poor drawing skills. Also, I was distracted by wondering why Carmen would excitedly discover dinosaur eggs, and then just walk away and leave them...

She was probably running to see how long it takes dinosaur eggs to become petrified - hopefully less than 6000 years.

Yeah, this strip is pointless, although if it is the first in a series, this could get interesting. I'm curious to see how low Stantis can go.
On a different subject, did anyone notice that the Prickly City Podcast was recently updated? I just noticed today. Apparently it was updated on April 13th. A brief recap:
Way too much time is spent on Stantis's rantings about the nature of the podcast. It's a bore.
2 North American cities' names are mocked by Stantis and Toby in the podcast. One is the location of the only newspaper to pick up "Prickly City" since the last podcast. Bad idea, guys.
Oh, and get this: Toby is apparently supposed to be the liberal in the podcasts. I could never tell. In addition, Toby jokingly threatens to get his own podcast. I wish he was serious.
Stantis also gets a few letters:
One from a guy who warns that some of the donations to a cancer research society are actually going towards abortions. This in reference to Stantis's "Get Well Mrs. Edwards" strip. Stantis responds in a truly Stantis way -- by rambling.
Another from a guy who reasonably asks why there was a sudden end to the Carmen-gets-subpoenaed storyline and the next day she's just playing baseball with Winslow like nothing happened. Stantis dodges the question.
Lastly, someone writes proposing that Carmen's lack of political gravity was the result of disippation of the illusions (like the "victory" in Iraq) that kept the Republicans grounded. Stantis says no, he was expressing displeasure with the way the Republican party is being run. BUT, at the same time, he defends his neo-cons. How, you ask? By blaming the "neo-neo-cons"! AAUUGGH! Just go away, Stantis!
Except he's not going away. He promises a brand, spankin' new podcast, fresh off the hard drives, coming soon.
