What A Big Boy Am You!
John Conyers: Not only was it not read, but it was not even fully understood.
So it seems that the author of Prickly City, whose work we discuss here at Shrubville, is on the same page as Joe Biden, Barbara Boxer, Hillary Clinton, John Conyers, Dick Durbin, John Kerry, Barack Obama and Harry Reid, among others, in mindlessly granting to the President unlimited powers, only to complain about it when he uses them.
Ineptitude: bringing America together.

Um, sorry Sacki, but if the FBI is illegally spying on us without getting warrants, why is that the Democrats' fault? Oh, wait, sorry - EVERYTHING is the Democrats' fault.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Conyers vote against the Patriot Act?

He also voted against the Iraq resolution. I haven't "read and understood" everything that congress has passed in the last six years, so it is possible that Conyers granted the president unlimited power in some other way I am not aware of.
And also Obama was in the Illinois state senate in 2001, so he didn't get a vote on the Patriot Act.
But as for those other hypocrites... they deserve to be called out as the politcal opportunists that they are.

You're right about Obama there, John S. He was in the Illinois Senate in 2001.
However, after joining the US Senate he voted in support of the "USA PATRIOT Improvement and Reauthorization Act of 2005" (3/2/06). He's the voice of change. $5, $10, $20...whatever spare change you have, he'd like to have it.

Russell Feingold (D-Wisconsin) is the only senator to have voted against the Patriot Act, so in aggregate, the Democratic Party was on the right side of the issue.
