The Impossible Dream

TODAY'S STRIP

Please oh please. Could it be? Is there any chance? Ding-dong the Hack is dead? PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAASE?

While I'd like to believe this is the start of one-week series which will end with The End of Prickly City, I imagine this will turn out to be Scott's comment about the U.S. Attorney firings. Of course, the fact Carmen is getting canned just illustrates how limited Stantis' approach can be. If anything, Carmen would be promoted to Attorney-fucking-General since she is the loyalest of the loyal Bushies.

But in the meantime, before tomorrow's strip is published, let me have my dream in which Stantis is fired...let me fantasize about how beautiful the world would be without Prickly City.

I really don't want to read that Carmen "serves at the pleasure of the cartoonist." How is this story supposed to play out? Is Winslow going to call for Stantis' resignation?

Maybe Carmen's firing will be used as "proof" that raising the minimum wage will hurt poor people.

The problem is that Carmen wasn't sufficiently conservative! We've all noticed how often she deviated from her character. She shouldn't have ignored those informative calls from the Republican officeholders in her state - New Mexico, maybe?
