Not The Sharples Crayon In The Box

TODAY'S STRIP

The speed of idiocy is swift and its lunatic course follows a non-linear path. Maintaining a trail on the heels of the fool who derives pleasure from plodding on that road is difficult and unwise.

Today's P.C. begins with a huh? and ends with a what? It starts out carrying through on yesterday's 9/10 Democrats, proceeds to invoke the 10/6 Mad Hatters, and then follows that up with the $1.99 Minnie Pearls.

At that point, it appears that 3/4 of the strip was completed and put aside for completion later, and when he got back to it he has half in the can. That would explain the out of the blue potshot taken which appears to bring out the loathing he holds for the publically educated, of which he is one. To refresh your memory, "Scott enrolled at Los Angeles Community College and California State University, Long Beach...being kicked out of the latter." I'm sure he coulda been much more than a cartoonist, if they hadn't allowed all those women to attend school. Or Mexicans. Or Blacks. Or Asians. Yeah, that's it. And now those publically educated fools who ain't know nothin is running the big flat world and it's vic tayback time.

For a guy who says he's not a Republican, Stantis sure loves their talking points. I wonder if he knows any of Lamont's positions other than "he wants to withdraw our troops from Iraq over the next few years." Oh - wait - the talking point is "cut and run." My bad.

Oh, by the way, in the 1972 election where Nixon ran against McGovern, Nixon ALSO ran on the platform of pulling out of Viet Nam. Oops - Republicans love to forget that talking point.

I guess that part is embarrasing, since Scott worked on Nixon's re-election campaign for a brief time.

Nice one, Scott. Three birds with one stone in one strip: "Loony" lefties, the anti-war crowd (good point about Nixon, seems Scott also believes in revisionist history) and if that isn't enough, he calls us fools for going to public schools just like he did. What a guy.

For a dude who rants so much about history, Stantis should remember the flak caused by "Black Sambo" depictions of African-Americans in early 20th century culture. That's basically how he draws Carmen.

But then again, bigots and their tactics never go out of style. -They just find new outlets like Stantis and Bruce Tinsley to unload their crap.

Okay, no offense but I'm tired of how they accuse Carman as a racist stereotype.

I just can't see the difference. "Sambo" has huge lips and talk funny and usually portraid lazy.

Carman's lips isn't that huge and judging by her word ballons, talks right and definatly not lazy.

Of course, she's depicted as a positive character in the strip (whether she's a good character or not is debatable)

While I don't mind people saying this strip sucks, I think anyone who calls Carman a racist streotype needs to, you know, get a life.

(glad to get that off my chest)

first submitter hit it on the head: nobody was running on how to STAY in Vietnam.
and, as a public school teacher, I'd love to see where les enfants Stantis go to school. Isn't it strange that really successful guys never brag as grown-ups "Oh, yeah, I went to a really expensive prep school...never had to wipe my onw butt or chew my own food". THAT'S why so many of the Bush kids et al. get caught in the 'bad part of town', trying to score some weed or get a tat...they'll say 'yo, THAT'S my Vietnam'.
They aren't being ironic.
