It's Hammertime

TODAY'S STRIP

Who exactly is gloating here? Are you gloating? I'm not gloating. I don't know anyone who is gloating.

Instead, everyone I know is PRAISING the same God that Tom Delay prays to that he's just going away.

Thank you, God, for using your divine hammer to bang some sense into the non-divine Hammer. Now, God, if I could ask for one more favor with respect to Delay...Could you please start the rapture now? Could you please zap Tom Delay and his followers up to heaven so the rest of us who are Left Behind can live our lives in peace? (You could take Stantis too if you'd like.)

Anyway, where was I? Oh yeah. Gloating.

On behalf of the 59,028,109 who voted along "moral" issues for John Kerry over the party of corruption, I would like to say to Tom Delay and Scott Stantis, Pfffffffffffffffuckyouffffffffftt.

Stantis's point doesn't make sense - when Democrats fail, Republicans impeach? Huh? What exactly was Clinton failing at? Last time I checked he had a surplus and the economy was booming.

Clinton merely enjoyed the benefits of the policies of the Bush I administration. There's nothing like resting on someone else's laurels, unless you're also getting head while doing so.

I don't remember Clinton failing. I seem to remember peace and prosperity, which once upon a time were considered to be good things. And if Clinton rode on Bush I's coattails, then Reagan benefitted from Carter's policies. Carter, of course, was a roaring success, because otherwise he would have been gracefully impeached. Right? Wrong? Oh, I don't know up from down anymore.

Maybe want Stantis is really saying is that it is time to impeach Bush II, but with grace.

Bush 1 - such a great President, he got 1 term.

Posted by: The Furnace at April 19, 2006 03:42 PM

Yes, no one who utterly sucks the life out of the world could get elected to two terms, no one at all.

I guess FDR will never be surpassed in terms of "greatness," then.

Oh yeah that's right - FDR, much like Clinton, inherited an awesome economy from another wonderful Republican, Herbert Hoover. Geez, it's amazing that Dems even get elected with the Republicans doing so much good when they're in office.

Posted by: The Furnace at April 19, 2006 06:33 PM

Um, FDR was elected to four terms of office, and then there was that 22nd Amendment thing. "Greatness" has nothing to do with number of terms.

Nevermind the internment of Japanese citizens and the isolationism practiced until Pearl Harbor.

But he was a Democrat!
